The premise of BTTS Betting is self-explanatory. If both teams score and you selected ‘Yes’, your bet will come in regardless of which team wins the match, or if the game finishes as a draw. If one team scores or both teams fail to score, and you selected BTTS ‘No’, your bet will also come in. It also does not matter how many goals have been scored in the match.
How Often Does BTTS happen In The Premier League?
During the 2019/2020 season, Tottenham Hotspur (25) were involved in the most matches where both teams scored. Crystal Palace were involved in only 14 matches where both teams scored. It will certainly be worth watching Tottenham during the 2020/2021 season and adding Spurs to your BTTS accumulator could pay dividends.
What About The Championship?
In the 2019/20 season, Derby County and Luton Town were both involved in 28 matches where both teams scored. Leeds United, who will be playing in next seasons Premier League, were involved in just 17 games which ended with both teams scoring.
BTTS Non-League?
If you want to expand your BTTS betting outside of the professional leagues, it might be worth looking at the Northern Premier League. Last season, only Radcliffe were involved in less than 50% of matches where both teams scored.
European Leagues
Serie A
Atalanta thrilled fans all over Europe with their run to the Quarter Finals of the Champions League, and it was similar on the domestic front. They were involved in 26 matches where both teams scored, this is equalled by Roma and bettered only by Bologna who were involved in 29 BTTS matches.

La Liga
Real Betis and Villareal were both involved in 25 matches where both teams scored. Back in September 2019, Villareal thrashed Betis 5-1 with former Arsenal player Santi Carzola scoring one of the goals.
Watch: Villareal 5 – 1 Real Betis.
Getafe were involved in only 14 matches so might be one to avoid on any BTTS bet during the 2020/21 season.
Other Leagues To Watch?
Erste Liga – Austria
The 2nd tier of Austrian football was one of the top leagues for both teams scoring in matches. It occurred in over 67% of matches during the 2019/20 season. The team highest in this table was SV Horn, 90% of their matches ended up with both teams scoring.

Some additional questions.
Does Extra-time Count?
No. BTTS betting only includes the 90 minutes plus injury time, so you need to be wary when betting in knockout competitions like the UEFA Champions League, League Cup or FA Cup. Goals scored in extra-time will not be included in your bet.
Do Own Goals Count?
Yes. Own goals do count for the purposes of BTTS betting. It does not matter how each side scores, just that they do.
What other types of BTTS Betting are there?
BTTS and Win:
This is where you decide if both teams will score as well as the outcome of the match itself. There are six different variants of this. Whilst this is obviously harder to predict, it does provide the punter with better odds.
- BTTS Yes and home win
- BTTS Yes and away win
- BTTS Yes and draw
- BTTS No and home win
- BTTS No and away win
- BTTS No and draw
- BTTS in Both Halves:
This requires both teams to score in the first and second halves. This can be worth a look after a high scoring first half when both teams might want to a bit more defensive.
BTTS and Over/Under:
This is a combination of Both Teams To Score and Over/Under betting. It requires the punter to bet on the number of goals scored in the match and whether both teams will score.
