Money back as a free bet if your top run scorer bet loses and Root or Warner score a fifty in any England/Australia game!
The Cricket World Cup is well underway and we are seeing some fantastic batting from some of the worlds best. We are now near the end of the group stages with each team having two games left. The top four of the group will then go on to play at least one more game each.
Paddy Power has a promotion for Joe Root (England) and David Warner (Australia). If you place a bet on the Top Team Runscorer market in any England or Australia game and Root or Warner score a fifty you will get your money back as a free bet if your original bet loses.
This only applies to England or Australia matches in the ICC World Cup 2019. The max free bet you can get is £10. This offer applies to new and existing customers also. Obviously, there are more T&Cs that can be found on the Paddy Power website.
Rated as the seventh-best ODI batsman in the world Root is enjoying a good World Cup. He currently has 424 runs to his name and is averaging 84.80. This is the fourth best at this current World Cup. He also has three 50's with only Aaron Finch having more than him.
In terms of big hitters, Root isn't one of them. He hasn't recorded a single six in this year's competition and has a strike rate below 100. This may look bad for hitting a fifty but it, in fact, is the opposite. This show Root won't usually get out cheaply trying a big shot. He is happy to take singles and once he has played himself in he is very hard to get out. Given that he is in good form and has a few games left, you'd expect him to add another half century before then end!
Back from his one-year suspension, Warner is still a top ODI batsman. Warner currently has the most runs in the World Cup and recorded a 53 against England. He averages just shy of Root with 83.33 and now have four half-centuries in the competition.
Like Root, he has a low strike rate and is very quick between the stumps. Warner is tough to get out and Australia is looking like they are nailed on for the semi-finals at least. In the next three games, you'd expect the top run scorer to get himself at least one more fifty!
