With only three games remaining in the Premier Leauge, the top four is getting tight and there are only two remaining Champions League places.
Spurs are currently in third place in the table and look pretty much confirmed to get into the top four. They are three points clear of Chelsea in third place on 67 points, with Arsenal on 66 points and Man United 64 points. All four of the sides had a chance to make ground on each of their opponents over the weekend. However, all of them dropped points. Spurs, Arsenal and United lost whilst Chelsea drew.
In the midweek fixtures, Arsenal and United lost again. City beat their fellow Manchester side 2-0 whilst Arsenals poor away form carried on with a 3-1 loss to Wolves. Had both the sides won there would have been just three points between third and sixth.
Remaining games
Spurs look in a good position to get top four and two wins will secure that for them. First, they face West Ham at home in a London derby. Spurs have already beaten The Hammers this season and will be confident they can with, especially with West Hams poor form. Then they face Bournemouth away and finish with Everton at home. Spurs have beaten both of these sides this season as well. Since moving to their new ground they have won all of the four games. They have scored eight and are yet to concede. This is why they are priced at 1/25 to get in the top four this season on Bet365.
In fourth place is Chelsea. Sarri’s side has had an up and down season. At times they have looked excellent and others appalling. This has led to lots of speculation regarding the manager’s job. They face United away this weekend it was will surely rule one of the teams out of the race, or maybe both if its a draw! The two sides aren’t in great form and drew last time. After that, they have Watford at home, who they have already beat. Finally, they play Leicester away. Leicester have already beaten Chelsea this season so this could be a big game. Chelsea are the second-favourites at 4/5 on Bet365.
Just outside the top four is Arsenal. The Gunners are in poor form of later with only one win in their last four league games. They are only one point behind Chelsea but should be firmly in the top four as they should have got something from the three games they lost. First, up for them is Leicester away. They have already beaten them this season but Arsenals away form is poor. Next is Brighton at home. Chris Hughton’s were unlucky not to get a draw against Spurs in midweek and will be looking for the same type of performance. Emery’s last game of the season is away again at Burnley. All these are games you would expect this Arsenal side to win though. Arsenal to get Champions Leauge football next year is 13/10.
Man United are the outsiders for the top four now. After Solskjaers fantastic start you would have thought it was certain they would get in the top four. However, poor recent form in the league leading to four losses in their last six has not put them three points adrift. Their first game of the last three is against Chelsea. As mentioned earlier this is a huge game, but not just for the two teams involved but also Arsenal. After that, they face relegated Huddersfield away. The Terriers beat United 3-2 at the start of the season in what was a huge shock. United’s last game of the season is at home to Cardiff who they beat 5-1 in Ole’s first game in charge. United need to beat Chelsea on the weekend and then hope for Arsenal to slip up in order to make the top four. Bet365 have them priced at 6/1 to sneak into the top four.
Don’t forget that Chelsea and Arsenal are both still in the Europa League. If either side wins this they can get into the Champions League that way. They are both in the semi-finals of it and have avoided each other so it could be a Chelsea vs Arsenal final with the winner getting Champions League football too.
