World heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua takes on Kubret Pulev this weekend with a win for the British boxer all but confirming a fight with Fury next year!
After just over a year away from the ring, Anthony Joshua makes his much-awaited return this weekend. The world heavyweight champion takes on Bulgarian Kubret Pulev at Wembley Arena.
This is AJ’s first fight since sport all across the world took a break earlier this year. Unlike every other time at Wembley, AJ will be greeted by just 1,000 fans instead of 90,000 like previously.
The fight will also be Joshua’s first fight since his rematch with Andy Ruiz Jr in which he won back his title’s that he lost to the Mexican previously. This is hopefully going to be third time lucky for the two boxers. They have had two previous fights called off due to a Pulev injury and a stop in boxing across the world.
It won’t be an easy fight for AJ by any stretch of the imagination. Pulev has lost just one fight in his career and that was against Vladimir Klitschko. There is a strong suggestion that after this fight, if all goes well, AJ will face Fury in a super fight next year to decide who is unified world heavyweight champion. However, Pulev has said he is already planning on fighting Fury next year, suggesting he is confident of causing an upset this weekend.
AJ vs Pulev Power Prices and #WhatOddsPaddy
Kubrat Pulev to be knocked down in any of Rounds 2, 4, 6, 8 or 10 – 6/4
AJ is the favourite for this fight at 1/10 and is 3/10 to beat him via TKO/KO. He has shown he has the power to knock down any boxer in the world and won’t want this fight to last any longer than it needs to. AJ will look to KO Pulev and this will only happen with a knockdown.
Both fighters to be knocked down – was 10/1 now 12/1
AJ wouldn’t have expected to even be knocked down the first time he fought Ruiz Jr, let alone get beaten by him. Pulev is someone he hasn’t fought before and he knows he can’t take him for granted. With an impressive record of 28-1, Pulev is clearly a dangerous heavyweight and will take courage from the Ruiz Jr fight that he can take it to AJ. He knows a knockdown will shake up the British boxer as its something he’s not used to. At 12/1 it’s an interesting price and one that doesn’t mean Pulev has to win but just take the fight to AJ.
Anthony Joshua To Win in Round 1 – 25/1
This would be hugely surprising if AJ won it in the first round due to the fact he last did this ten fights ago against Gary Cornish, who? However, this would send out a huge message to Tyson Fury that he’s ready and raring to go. At 25/1 it’s a high price that makes the first round even more exciting.
These are only a selection of Power Price and #WhatOddsPaddy offers. They are a load more to have a look at and some are at fantastic prices. Be sure to check them out to make the return of AJ that bit more interesting!
