I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here has become the most watch show of 2019 in the UK. The latest viewing figures indicate that more than 13 million viewers tuned in to the first episode. That was enough to seal the top spot, overtaking BBC One’s Call Of Duty to take the title.

Fans of the show have been tuning in every night to watch 12 celebrities swap their plush pads for jungle life in the Australian bush. And while all the contestants have been getting on in their new surroundings, it hasn’t been drama-free.

The enthusiasm of the early days is waning and the self-imposed exile that the 12 celebs find themselves in has turned into an arduous grind. With virtually no outside stimulation and little by the way of food, the players are now struggling to keep their frustrations in check. Some are doing much better than others.

Kaitlyn Jenner, an already experienced reality tv star, knows how the game is played and has consistently maintained a pleasant demeanor throughout. The same cannot be said for Andrew Maxwell, the Irish comedian, whose frequent outbursts and bouts of despair have caused some friction in the camp.

I’m A Celebrity Betting Odds

When the bookmaker’s odds for the show first came out there was a clear pecking order as to who they thought would do well. Before they even touched down in Australia, Ian Wright was pegged as the favourite. However, his lack of patience and grumpiness hasn’t sat well with viewers. As a result, he has been pushed out to odds of 20/1 to become King of the jungle.

Roman Kemp was always a short favourite and that hasn’t changed. Now just 4/1 to win the show the Capital FM DJ is a very likable and fun guy who always seems upbeat. In terms of odds, he is only bested by one other contestant and that is Andrew Whyment. Better known to viewers as ‘Kirk’ from Coronation Street, Andrew was already a superfan of the show before heading into the jungle. Now he’s there, he is loving it and that’s why he’s the favourite with odds of 6/4.

Three contestants have huge odds. Cliff Parisi (80/1), Andrew Maxwell (100/1) and Adele Roberts (150/1) look the least likely to win. Andrew maxwell garners a lot of attention on Twitter with fans of the show split in their opinions. Plenty think he’s miserable and homesick and should go home. But on the other side are those that have taken issue with Ian Wright’s treatment of him. In fact, OFCOM received 32 complaints about the bullying on the show.

How will it all play out? Odds are on Andrew Maxwell to be the first eliminated. However, there are now moves to get Ian out first. In fact, his odds of getting the boot first have dropped from 12/1 to 7/1 with some bookies.

At the time of writing, there is no fixed date of the first elimination of I’m A Celeb 2019. However, past years suggest it will be sometimes at the end of this week. The winner will be crowned on Sunday, December 8th, 2019.
