The Champions League is finally returning this week and Paddy Power have some specials as well as odds on who will win the competition.
After not having a game played in the competition for four and a half months, the biggest competition in club football is finally back this week. On Friday and Saturday night, the four remaining second legs in the Round Of 16 will be played.
When these four games have finished, it will then be the quarter-finals. They are taking place in Lisbon and each of the games, unlike in the past, will be one leg games. This is similar to the format of international tournaments like the World Cup and the European Championships.
Last seasons Champions League winners, Liverpool, are out of the competition. They were beaten 4-2 over two legs by Atletico Madrid, right before football was stopped.
Champions League Winner 2019/20
Man City and Bayern Munich both go into the competitions restart as the favourites priced t 3/1. Bayern are as good as through as they won 3-0 at Stamford Bridge and have to avoid a huge upset to get into the quarters. City on the other hand, are 2-1 up against Real Madrid and the second leg is at The Etihad. They should get through, but its not as certain as Bayern Munich. Both sides have arguably the best squads in the competition and will both expect to be there at the end.
Just behind them is PSG at 5/1. They are yet to win the Champions League but have a squad capable of doing so. They have Atalanta in the quarters so will be confident of getting to the semi-finals. However, they will have to beat Atalanta without the services of French superstar Kylian Mbappe.
Atletico Madrid are the next lowest priced side at 8/1. The fact they have beaten Liverpool who are currently the best side in the world will give them the confidence in beating anyone. Atletico’s defence is up there with the best in the world and given the games are all one leg, they could beat anyone.
Paddy Power has odds on all the other sides winning also, so be sure to check them out as they will only get lower!
Name The Finalists
Paddy Power have an interesting market in which you Name The Finalists. This gives bigger odds than just picking a winner. The favourite is Man City and PSG at 5/1. The two sides are on opposite sides of the competition and can only meet each other in the final. They are two out of the three favourites and at 5/1 is a good price.
Bayern and PSG is then next favourite at 7/1. PSG have a good route in and the hardest team they will come up against before the final would be Atletico or Leipzig, should they beat Atalanta that is.
Man City and Atletico could be a great one to back at 15/2. Atletico will prove a tough team for PSG to break down. and even tougher for Atalanta to do so.
Reach The Final
Reach The Final is a good market as it doesn’t require a team to win. Obviously the odds are at a lower price but its not as tough as picking a winner!
