Rugby World Cup 2015

Get 5/1 on Ireland or 7/1 on France with Betfair.

Hosted in England, the Rugby World 2015 has been the biggest to date and is an absolute credit to the tournament organisers. Over 1.4 million of us have turned out to watch our respective countries go for glory, with some having more luck that others.

With 168 tries, 119 conversions and 137 penalties scored it has been a terrific few weeks of rugby with more still yet to come.

England may be out but Ireland, Scotland and Wales are still flying their flags and all hoping for a coveted spot in the quarter finals. But first the last of the pool games have to be played and it’s the outcome of those that will ultimately determine who has a real shot of making it all the way to the Rugby World Cup 2015 final.

First up is the clash of rugby giants Ireland and France. Saving the best til last, these two teams have already booked their places in the quarter finals but the goal is to top Pool D.

Both teams have a 100% record to date as both have won their three games. The pool winner will go on to play the runner-up of Pool C, which now looks fairly certain to be Argentina and that’s the good news. Unfortunately for the runner-up of Pool C, they have the incredibly daunting task of taking on the All Blacks – a prospect neither team wants to face.

If you’re a new customer to Betfair and want to capitalise on their enhanced odds for this potentially epic game then join right now becuase they are giving you 5/1 on Ireland to beat France and 7/1 on France to beat Ireland – a fantastic offer and to make it even more enticing, you’ll even get your money back as a free bet if you lose!

Outside of the enhanced odds, Ireland are odds on favourites to win the game at 8/11 and 4/6 ON to top the group.

Wales are vying for poll position in Pool A and are currently level pegging with Australia on 13 each with both teams also having won all three of their games. They play each other on Saturday with the winner staking their claim to top of the group. The Aussies are favourites to win that game but the good news is that there is a PROMO on the match:

If a forward scores the first try of the match Betfair will refund all losing first, last and anytime tryscorer bets

1. Place a pre-match bet on the First, Last or Anytime tryscorer market on selected matches
2. If a forward scores the first try in any of the selected matches we will refund all losing first, last and anytime tryscorer bets

If Wales can overcome the Aussies then they will play runners-up of Pool B. Of course we don’t actually know who that is yet as it’s still all to play for there with South Africa, Scotland and Japan all statistically capable of topping the group.

South Africa have to play the USA tonight and despite a very valiant effort it really doesn’t look good for the USA especially as they also still have to play Japan in four days time. If Scotland can beat Samoa, and beat them comprehensively enough to pick up a bonus point, then that could be enough to see them through to the knock out stages.

By Sunday, October 11th, it will all become a much clearer picture and we will have whittled down the groups to just eight teams. Quarter finals take place on Saturday October 17th and Sunday 18th with the semi finals due to kick off on the 24th, all of which leads up to the Rugby World Cup 2015 Final at Twickenham on Saturday October 31st.
