HOW TO GET A FREE BET?
Getting a free bet from trusted bookmakers isn’t too tricky. There are plenty of betting portals offering new customers a range of free bets and offers in return for signing up with them.
Typically a free bet will range between £5 and £100. It could be one single Bet or several bets over a set period. Each bookmaker has there own terms and conditions to their promo deals. Make sure you fully understand the terms before you join a bookmaker. We list the key terms of each free bet deal which is featured on this site. However, full terms can be found on the respective bookmakers’ sites and apps.
If you see a deal on our site which takes your fancy, click the ‘Bet Now’ button and you’ll be taken to the sign-up page of that bookmaker. The free bet deal will be displayed clearly on the sign-up page. That’s how you get a free bet! Pretty simple really.
FREE BET PROMO CODES
At one time bookmakers would use promo codes to allow customers to claim free bets. This method is now relatively uncommon in the industry. These days most bookmakers use tracking codes and bespoke landing pages to apply free bets to a new customers account, which is more convenient than fiddling around with codes. However, if you do need a code to claim an offer, we’ll let you know about it in the key terms and conditions text.
MATCHED BET PROMOS
The most common type of promo deal available today is the ‘Matched Bet’ offer. It works like this, to unlock a free bet deal from a bookmaker, new customers must deposit and risk a specific amount on a sporting event.
An example of a matched bet promo you might come across is shown here. A customer is required to bet £5 on a sporting event with odds of 1/2 or higher. The bookmaker will then give the customer a free £5 bet or credit £5 to the customer’s account. Nearly all bookmaker offers are now some variant of this deal.
NON CASH PROMOTIONS
Another type of promo you’ll come across is the Non-Cash Promotion. The term covers all promotions where the inducement is not cash related. The most common type of ‘Non-Cash Promotion’ is enhanced odds on certain events. For example, a bookmaker could offer larger odds on a particular race at the Cheltenham Festival.
New customers could also be placed in a prize draw for signing up with a bookmaker. Recently, bookies have been giving free spins on their slot machines to new sports customers.
WHO’S THE BEST BOOKMAKER?
That’s a tough question to answer! It will depend on what YOU want from a bookmaker. Every person will have different requirements; some bookies are brilliant for football bets, some have bigger odds on horse racing, others offer sports betting along with a great range of casino games.
If you’re looking for a great range of sports markets, then BETFRED is a brilliant place to bet. If you want a full suite of betting and gaming, then Paddy Power has it all. If you straight-up want a big promo offer, then Betfair is hard to beat. You can read our bookmaker reviews to find out which bookie is right for you.
REGULAR REWARDS & PROMOS
Along with sign-up promotions, bookmakers also offer regular rewards to their existing customer base. These rewards can take several different forms. It’s not uncommon for bookies to give players free bets on specific events. You could also be offered risk-free cash matches. For instance, bet £5 on a Premier League game, and if your bet loses, the bookmaker will refund your stake.
Existing customers could also benefit from loyalty schemes, and prize draws. Paddy Power and Betfred are two bookies who offer these types of benefit. To find out what you could claim from leading bookmakers, read our bet promo page.
